The master tape is not available for sale, but still exists. Fragments of the underlying speech can be heard between punch-in points, chance elements in the overall tapestry of processual and algorithmically generated music. The master cassette was a found medium, a so called 'audio book', collected from the street in Prenzlauerberg. ![]() It is structured as a series of punch-ins direct from the mixing console, with no digital editing. The music was recorded in realtime, directly to one cassette over a number of months. It represents an intimate, and occasionally absurd, processual sonic art object. ![]() 'Mist Tape, as public release, was originally distributed on a limited edition 90 minute cassette tape released by The Tapeworm in Berlin and Touch in London in Spring 2016. 'Mist Tape on the other hand, invites the listener to engage with artistic process through sound, to become aware of how sonic art evolves and how processes relate, in a broader sense, to the daily existence of an artist in a permanent state of creation. ![]() The conventional album rarely captures the processes, discipline and commitment that goes into the act of creating new music as a daily practice. ![]()
